Anthony Watts is Vanquished by the Teapocalypse...

Sou | 5:43 AM Feel free to comment!

Anthony Watts is suitably aghast at a blog that slings off at deniers.  He doesn't know enough about climate science (or geography) or send-ups to figure out if it is for real or not.  Anthony writes:
Maybe its a lame attempt at satire, maybe the person actually believes what they wrote. It is hard to determine.

Hard to determine?  Really? If Anthony was better versed in the art of comprehension he might not have quite as much difficulty in figuring out the difference between science and satire.  If he read the comments he might have had more than a clue. But as HumanistCafe observes:
It is unsurprising that irony and satire are lost on the denier. Your comment reinforces the thrust post. Gaia be with you.
That comment was written before Anthony posted his article as far as I can tell.  Not that it should have been necessary.

Here's a taster - go read the Humanist Cafe blog for the rest.
The planet is cooking and all Johnny Wingnut can say is, “pass me the Hawaiian Tropic.”
And, it doesn’t matter where the information comes from, either. NOAA and NASA are part of a One World Order conspiracy or, at the very least, a socialist plot to eradicate guns, god, liberty and Ted Nugent....
...It seems, it will take something biblical for the Gohmerts to finally comprehend what is happening.  Perhaps even diluvian – they really dig that Noah’s Ark story.
A Teapocalypse!
Jehovah God punishes only the deniers and saves the believers. Isn’t that the way these things go. Only this time, it’s science we’re talking about.

From the keyboards of deniers

Anthony isn't the only dumb denier.  Here are some choice comments from deniers:

Lonnie E. Schubert says:
August 4, 2013 at 1:35 pm  More evidence that the global warming alarmist crowd has taken over from the young-earth creationists. Faith and zealotry override any sense. The alarmists, as throughout history, are the true believers, immune from all fact and reality.
years from now the warming alarmists will be forgotten, but they will still be there, still preaching doom, even though the faithful will be few.

Compare Lonnie's remark with this comment on Humanist Cafe, 4TimesaYear says:
August 3, 2013 at 9:40 pm  It’ll never happen as long as the northern and southern hemispheres have opposing seasons. Read Genesis 8:22

Sundance says:
August 4, 2013 at 1:12 pm  I left two responses asking politely for the science processes and physics that the Humanist CafĂ© article was based on but they did not survive moderation. I am already dead to them I guess. ;-)

John another says (you'll have to read the blog article to appreciate this and the next one):
August 4, 2013 at 12:40 pm  I posted this comment and another about the elevation of SF, NYC and DC but niether made it through the palace guard last night.  ‘Little Rock at 335 ft and Miami at 6 ft are islands but St George, Utah at 2,860 ft is in the center of the ‘Gulf of Arizona’. Methinks this be bs’
