John Coleman "comes out" as a full blown greenhouse effect denier

One of the tactics used by climate science disinformers is to wheel out people who reject the science. Some disinformers will even try to persuade people that people who accept science reject it. Then there are climate science deniers who deny that they reject climate science, even while they are rejecting it. Sometimes deniers are presented as climate science "experts" when they have no qualifications in climate science. Their expertise lies in denying climate science.

Fox News presents a climate science denier. What's new?

A short while ago one such denier managed to get a spot on a Fox television show. He traded on the fact that around 30 years ago he set up a television weather channel in the USA called "The Weather Channel". I doubt that too many people around the world know who he is. Probably not that many Americans would remember him either. He's from a bygone era. His name is John Coleman and he's a mate of Anthony Watts. He made his career in television back in the 1970s, before most people on earth today were born. He only retired this year though, so maybe there are still plenty of Americans who know who he is.

Anthony Watts found a fake forecast video. Not just any fake forecast video, but a fake forecast video that he says was "sponsored by the World Meteorological Organisation (part of the UN)"

Did he prove it by showing the actual event in reality? Nope. He couldn't.

So how does he know it's fake? Did he quiz the people in the video? Nope. At least not that he said.

So how does he know it's fake? Did he just assume it was fake because the United Nations had a hand in it? Well, maybe that was what got him thinking. After all, as every genuine paranoid conspiracy theorist knows, the UN is out to strip good honest US bloggers of their property, send them off to FEMA camps and hand the property over to poor people living on islands that are sinking.

Now Anthony Watts is a very smart cookie. He knows when something is real and something isn't. He watched the video and said to himself "something is wrong here". He thought a bit more and watched it again. Something was niggling him. He watched it one more time and finally twigged.

Anthony slapped his forehead and cried aloud. "I know what it is. I know. I know. And I can't wait to boast how clever I am at spotting a fake video."
