Denier quote of the week from Tim Ball at WUWT

This is what passes for climate science at Anthony Watts' blog WUWT:
Since climate is an average of the weather, the average temperature for a 24-hour period is the climate of the day.
Timothy Ball PhD (climate conspiracy theorist)

That has to be the shortest climate period ever!

And not one person questioned it.

  1. It's my impression WUWT is increasingly dominated by the bottom of the barrel deniers these days, while those with illusions of competent skepticism hang out at Climate etc. But I'm not enough of a regular reader of either to state that with more confidence.

  3. I suspect Mr Ball, in his undoubted enthusiasm might be guilty of overthinking all this sciency stuff

  4. Oddly enough, it is only 5 months or so since WUWT was telling us all that climate and weather are not the same.

    1. Consistency is not a denier strong point.

    2. If memory serves, they were right back to muddling them up within days of unnecessarily reminding climate scientists of the difference.

  5. No global warming since a bit after lunchtime!

    1. Global cooling if you pick the right start point! Probably just after lunchtime. An ice age cometh.

    2. And since the average denier (and Anthony is very average) seems to think that their back yard is the whole globe, a quick look out the kitchen window will tell them everything they need to know.

    3. Now IIRC that Tim Ball was an agent of this lot 'Friends of Science' it just happens that Desmog has an article up about funding links with Peabody:

  6. O/T: Anyone else having difficulty with commenting when using Chrome? It claims reCaptcha can't be contacted, comments disappear off the screen when "published" and a little broken icon appears in their place. It is also acting wonky on twitter today too. I rewrite a tweet to make it fit and then erases most of what I rewrote partially replacing it with the original tweet, now mangled.

    1. Chrome on Linux here, no issues.

    2. Sorry to hear that, Dan. I'll look into it. (If I understand you, the comments didn't make it through at all.)

In the meantime, have you tried clearing the cache?

  7. This line of reasoning should not be surprising since the climate deniers are the only group of people who are all below their average intelligence.
