Anthony Watts promoting conspiracy theorist Tim Ball's Sky Dragon Slayer nonsense - again!

WUWT is coming up with some real gems. Hot on the heels of "CO2 is animal food" comes uber-conspiracy theorist Tim Ball, writing about his mixed up conspiracy theories (archived here). In one spot he wrote, regarding the shift away from fossil fuels:
It’s only valid if science supports the claim that CO2, because of human production, is causing warming or climate change. It doesn’t, so there is no scientific need to replace fossil fuels.

Yes, we've known for a long time that Anthony Watts really does favour some sky dragon slayers (ie greenhouse effect deniers) even while claiming to have banned them from the comments.

On the subject of magic sky dragons, Eli Rabett wrote some lyrics - but the internet has a very - long - memory. On the subject of Tim Ball and his one time "lawyer" John O'Sullivan, read the comments below Eli's ditty.

  1. Sadly many links below Eli's ditty have rotted and nobody archived them. That's why archiving is important!

This WUWT conversation might explain why Oliver K. Manuel vanished from the Slaying the Sky Dragon author list, but it raises the question of why John O'Sullivan is still listed. John O'Sullivan's other (illustrated!) book is more factual than Slaying the Sky Dragon, which makes his smears against Michael Mann an unbelievably ironic example of psychological projection. Even for a contrarian.

  2. I guess that with Obama's latest initiative the fossil fuel lobby (posing as faux sceptics) is desperate for any old crap to distract themselves from reality. And that's the only excuse I can think of for Watts allowing such painfully stupid stuff to be posted.

    1. Millicient: "any old crap to distract themselves from reality". given Heartland's response, i think the reality boat has well and truly sailed:

"Thanks to the Obama administration’s EPA and the new regulations released today, America is poised to become the ‘no pee’ section of the global swimming pool – and the useless actions will cost us a bundle-raising energy costs, adding new taxes, and crippling the economy.

      [...]

“All the regulations the administration may impose will not motivate the rest of the world to follow our bad policies. Just because we declare that we won’t pee in the pool, won’t stop the others. And, just like the water in the pool, CO2 emissions are fungible. We’ll be stuck in our little no-pee section with a crippled economy while the rest of the world will be frolicking in unfettered growth.”

    2. Do I take it that Heartlanders prefer to be in swimming pools where people do pee? Weird.
