I'd be surprised if there's anyone who feels that strongly about him personally. I don't know him. Because the climate cannot be experimentally manipulated, researchers primarily rely on natural experiments where a given population is compared to itself at different moments in time when it is exposed to different climatic conditions -"

Nothing else could possibly have changed in in those different moments in time could it? /sarc

With regard to "the bit about cognition" I get the impression that you have not studied human cognition as I have so will excuse your ignorance.

BTW the weather here is very cool, but not unusual for this time of year and far from being out of sorts I'm happily sitting here by a nice warm fire :)

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2313427464944392482.post-31302303882190296752013-08-04T21:40:41.885+10:002013-08-04T21:40:41.885+10:00I'm just reporting what was in the paper. They just listed what was in the literature already.

Just the same, when I read the bit about cognition, the first thing that came to mind was road rage, which where I live seems to occur more in heat waves as does general irritability.

With regard to the rest, read the paper and the other papers the authors reference. Personal incredulity is never the most cogent argument.

Out of curiosity, what's the weather like in your part of the world at the moment? For instance, climatic events may alter individuals' ability to reason and correctly interpret events (27, 28, 30, 31, 34–36), possibly leading to conflicts triggered by misunderstandings. Alternatively, if climatic changes and their economic consequences are inaccurately attributed to the actions of an individual or group (63, 122–125), for example an inept political leader (71), this may lead to violent actions that try to return economic conditions to normal by removing the “offending” population"

You actually believe this bullshit?
