After the first of the Christchurch earthquakes, which I experienced, the media told us that this was equivalent to 67 Hiroshima bombs speeding into Christchurch. No-one died in the first large Earthquake. I think it just puts it into perspective for the public.Rachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09129841408329015509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2313427464944392482.post-67653168080741260612013-06-24T05:52:54.337+10:002013-06-24T05:52:54.337+10:00If you read Balmaseda/Trenberths or Levitus' O...If you read Balmaseda/Trenberths or Levitus' Ocean Heat Content chart, it indicates about 0.6 to 0.7 w/m^2 sinking into the ocean in recent years.

@whuthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18297101284358849575noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2313427464944392482.post-6753039953743667912013-06-24T05:18:43.653+10:002013-06-24T05:18:43.653+10:00I imagined it would be something silly. Also, I'm not sure what you mean by kWatts per sq metre a day as kWatts already has time in it :-)

I don't think there is anything wrong with Willis's calculation. The only thing that is wrong - IMO - is his interpretation of the significance of this number.Wotts Up With That Bloghttp://wottsupwiththatblog.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
